Getting More People to Support You
When you’re building a brand or business, there will be people who don’t understand your vision. A common challenge we hear from people we work with is that they don’t receive enough support from the people who they feel like should be supporting the most. This is for you if you have similar challenges!
It hurts when you’re ready to go all in and build the vision you have for your lifestyle, your family and your impact on the world, but the people around you can’t or won’t contribute to your success. This is the case for many different reasons, because everyone see’s life from their own perspective. First things first, the vision is YOURS, not theirs. It’s your responsibility to make it happen whether they’re a part of it or not.
With that being said, a lot of people don’t support because they don’t see any value in it for themselves. If you’re asking for support but you’re not adding any value in exchange, you’re setting yourself up to be dissapointed. If you are adding value and it’s not the value they’re seeking or you’re not able to articulate it well enough, that’s a little different. (ACTION 101 will help you in this case.)
Follow these steps to get more people to support you:
Step 1. Determine the value you want to add to people’s lives.
This is anything you want to do, offer or develop to serve others in exchange for their time, money and attention. It should be rooted in the overall impact you want to make in the world and the legacy you want to build.
Step 2. Identify your target market.
Figure out who is seeking that value. Study them. Seek to understand their motives, problems, perspectives, feelings and lifestyle. Remember, they’re supporting because they see how it’s beneficial for them, not necessarily to support you.
Step 3. Develop platforms (products/services) to deliver that value.
Pick the platforms that are profitable for both you and them and work best with how you want to invest your time, money and energy.
Step 4. Pick your marketing and promotion strategies.
You can do anything so have fun with it! Leverage both face to face and online methods for the best results.
Remember, most people won’t just support you for you, they support you for themselves. Don’t sweat the people who still don’t support, focus on the people who do. As you follow these steps, you’re bound to meet new people who need what you offer as well. Once you’re at this point, and you want more consistency and stability to what you’re doing so you can transition from part-time to full-time, take the ACTION 101 workshops! They’ll introduce you to a system you can implement to do just that. Learn more by visiting IamACTION.network.
